'Category B' Week One

We recommend that 'Category B' pullers use a training aid and also use our Helpful Tips. To help you decide which training aid to use please read our recommendations below:

HALTI Headcollar vs HALTI Harness

A HALTI Headcollar will undoubtedly give you the most control of any training aid, however some short nose breeds e.g. Boxers or mastiffs can be difficult if not impossible to fit. Equally some sensitive dogs do not happily tolerate a Headcollar and for these dogs the HALTI Harness is a good alternative.

Even if your end desire is to be able to walk your dog on a regular collar and lead, training aids can be a useful tool to teach this, especially on days when you lack time or patience! Remember Week One is all about not allowing him to practise pulling, it is better to achieve no pulling by use of a training aid than fail without!
